Ethel Jane Turpin, 68, of Guinea Mt. Road near Pearisburg went to be with her Lord on Thursday afternoon, February 9, 2006 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born in Giles County on March 11, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Mose and Nancy Dalton Ratcliff. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Gilmer, Nellie Shepard and Carrie Blackwell and one brother Harliss Ratcliff.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 49 years Eugene Turpin; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Teri Turpin of Dothan, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law Connie and David Sexton of Pearisburg, Maggie and Donnie Sadler of Pearisburg; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four step-greatgrandchildren; one brother, Raymond Ratcliff of Richmond; special friends Banie Dowdy, William Banks, Johnny Crockett and many others.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall funeral home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall, Pastor Darin Whitt, the Rev. Albert Carroll and Alvin Trivett officiating. Burial will follow in the Staffordsville Cemetery.
