Turner, Velma Gunter

Velma Louise “Doots” Gunter Turner, age 88 formerly of Jackson Avenue, Pulaski passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at Waddell Rehab & Nursing Home, Galax.

Born February 25, 1919 in Cripple Creek, Virginia (Wythe County), she was the daughter of the late David Biddle Gunter and Minnie Anne Dinkins Gunter. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Anthony Turner, Sr.; son, Carl A. Turner, Jr.; three sisters, Lilly Cregger, Myrtle Cregger, and Macie Allison; and four brothers, Lafayette Gunter, Roy Gunter, Ellis I. Gunter and Glenn Gunter.

Surviving: Several Nieces and Nephews

Funeral Services will be Sunday 3:00 P.M. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Allen Harman officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service hour at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. Burial will follow Monday 2:30 P.M. at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin
