Melinda Ann Turner, 39, of Poplar Street in Narrows, died Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2011 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Medical Center in Blacksburg after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was an employee of Wolverine in Blacksburg and a member of Bethel Chapel Church in Clendennin.

Melinda leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Emory H. Jr. “Jimmy” and Loretta Frazier Turner of Narrows; her beloved daughter, Courtney Johnston of Narrows; her brother, Emory E. Turner of Narrows; her best friend and devoted caregiver, Richie Mills of Christiansburg; several aunts and uncles, two special cousins, and many friends, relatives, and co-workers too numerous to name.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Bethel Chapel Church in Clendennin with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke, Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
