Turner, John Donald

John Donald “Bunny” Turner, 79, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on August 16, 2011. He was a loving father, husband, brother and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel & Viola Turner of Callaghan; his loving wife, Carol Turner; brothers and sisters, Bobby Turner, Edith Hoke, William “Bill” Turner, Jack Turner, and Paul Turner; niece, Darla Anders.

He is survived by his son, John “J.W.” Turner and his fiancé, Amanda Quesenberry; his sister-in-law, Betty Turner; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Marlene, Margaret, Pam, Terry & Gladys, Glenna and Chuck.

He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family, especially J.W., as well as time spent with his friends and pets.

He also loved sports, especially Redskins, UVA, and Yankees. He played all high school sports for Dunlap High School.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2011, from 1-2 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Michael Bond officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to Horne Funeral Home, P O Box 825, Christiansburg, VA 24068, to offset the funeral expenses.
