Turner, Claudine Thornton

amem_winterscene.jpgClaudine Thornton Turner, 81, of Radford, passed away February 14, 2015, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Claudine was born January 16, 1934, to the late Lindsey and Elizabeth Thornton.

She is preceded in death by sisters, Louise Bain and Eula Phillips; and her brothers, Curtis, Dillard, Rudy, and Red Thornton.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Franklin D. Turner; her sons, Franklin D. Turner Jr and his wife, Ronda, of Dublin, and Michael L. Turner and his wife, Debbie, of Radford; and her grandchildren, Lauren Turner of Radford, Ryan Turner of Radford, and Jordan Honaker and her husband, Austin, of Christiansburg.

Claudine retired from Inland Motors in 1996 after 37 years. She was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday February 17, 2015, at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford with funeral services to follow directly after with the Rev. Hosea Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery in Radford.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
