kinkade-rose-gardenBillie Sue Turner, 85, of Rich Creek, Va., passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Riverview Nursing Home) in Rich Creek.

She was born in Giles County, Va., on June 2, 1929, and was the youngest child of seven children born to the late Edgar B. and Frances Lillian Moses Shumate.In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Turner; her former husband, Dale White; two infant sons, Jeffry Lynn and Patrick Ryan White.

Billie Sue is survived by one son, Greg White; his wife, Shirley; and one grandson, Jeffrey White; along with several nieces and nephews. Billie Sue worked for many years in the Giles County Court House as a clerk for the State of Virginia and Giles County.She was very outgoing and loved life.

Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Jason Stubblefield of the Narrows Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
