Amy Mitchell Turner, 55, of Narrows, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 after a valiant victory over a long-term illness at her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Amy was born in Giles County on June 6, 1966 to the late Ronald Hobert and Linda Jacques Mitchell. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her special uncle, Larry Mitchell.

Amy practiced her faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Narrows. A servant, she had a special place in her heart for Cancer Kids and Christmas, whose main program will be renamed this year The Amy Mitchell Turner Bake Sale and in years to come will always have a special place with her name devoted to the love of the families in their charge. Amy ensured that the first place in her heart was that of the love she had for her family, being the happiest when everyone came home. However, she took special pride in being a grandmother; enjoying having them to help in baking cookies, watching movies, and taking them for dates to eat. Amy’s recharge may have come in the time she would spend at the beach for she loved it so.

Amy is survived by her husband, Jeff Turner, her children, Todd Turner and wife, Rebecca of Narrows, Wesley Woodyard and wife, Danielle of Narrows, Stephanie Meredith Woodyard of Narrows, and Natalie Stables and husband, Derek of Narrows; grandchildren, Maddox, Pierce, Taylor, Barret, Lainey, Riley, Jayce, Noah, Dakota, Emilee, Mason, and Aaliyah; she is also survived by her sister, Laurie Mitchell of Blacksburg, niece, Jennifer Caldwell; nephew, Andy Metro; special in-laws; special friends, Misty Atwell, Amy Neal and Sandy Skeens; and a host of other family members and friends.

Per Amy’s wishes she will be cremated. There will be a Memorial Service to honor the life she gave her family and community, conducted on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Narrows with Pastor Jerry Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Kids and Christmas (1815 Old Wolf Creek Road Narrows, VA 24124). A guestbook is available by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.
