Alice Cousins Turner, 66, of Radford, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. She was welcomed with open arms by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved husband, Jack, who went before her on May 7th. She was retired from Virginia Tech as counselor for the Corp of Cadets and had her Doctorate in Theology. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Algermon Cousins, Sr. and Josephine Patterson Cousins, brother, Algermon Cousins, Jr., and sister, Joann Cousins.
Survivors include her sons, Jack London Turner and his wife Amanda,and his daughters Madison and Alexis; Sergeant First Class Scott Anthony Turner and his wife Kelly; daughters, Vonetta Moore and her husband George and their children Maya, Cameron and Tre, Alicia Rudd and her children Darius and Erika, and Major Juanita Rohler and her husband Major Dennis Rohler and their children Kory, Devin and Kelsie; sister, Clair Benton: mother-in-law, Annie Mae Turner; brothers-in-law, George Turner and his wife Bettie, and John Turner and his wife Ann; sisters-in-law, Romell Coles and her husband Retired Senior Master Sergeant Donald M. Coles, Sr., and Audrey Kelly and her husband Retired Senior Master Sergeant Anthony Kelly, Sr.; sister-in-law, Shirley Turner; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Jubilee Christian Center, 7331 Lee Highway, Radford, with Pastor Gary Hash officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Gethsemane Baptist Church, c/o Food Bank, P. O. Box 3514, Radford, VA 24143.
