Turman, Roscoe Nathan

Roscoe Nathan (Beatle) Turman, age 86, of Prices Fork died Sunday, May 31, 2015. He was born September 9, 1928 in Lone Ash, Wythe County, VA to the late James Landon and Etna Mae Farmer Turman.

He had lived in Prices Fork for over 62 years and was a member of St. Michaels Lutheran Church there. He was baptized in the Old St. Mark’s Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Dorothy (Dot) Shrewsberry Turman; only daughter, Nadene Turman Sowell; one son: Joey Turman; two grandsons: David Nathan Turman and Christopher Todd Horrocks; a brother: Charles Clarence Turman; three sisters: Lummie Ellen Turman, J. Marie Turman and Joyce Turman Stahl; a half-sister: Jean Turman Ratliff.

Roscoe is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Barbara Turman, Charles and Diane Turman, Judy Turman; granddaughters: Brandy T. and Jimmie Weseloh, and Christina Turman; grandsons, Michael Horrocks, Benjamin Turman, Matthew Turman, Timothy Turman, Travis Turman, Thomas Turman; step-grandson: Kenneth McNicholas; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Callie T. Gilley, Sylvia T. McCay, Nita T. Hughes; half-brothers, James L. Turman, Jr., Larry Turman; half sister: Betty T. Dice.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the St. Michaels Lutheran Church, Prices Fork with Pastor John Wirtz officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Michaels Lutheran Church, 2308 Merrimac Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
