Louise Johnson Turman, 85, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at her home. Louise was a veteran of the U.S. Army WAC Corps during World War II, she was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, and was employed by Montgomery County Library as the driver of the bookmobile for thirteen years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mallie Johnson and a brother, Andy Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Luther Howard Turman; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia T. and Eugene Plaster; a son and daughter-in-law, William H. “Bill” and Linda Turman; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jessie Ruth Fitzgerald, of Holiday, Fla.

At her request, there will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 in Sunset Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Randy Morris.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church or Christiansburg Rescue Squad in her honor.
