Cabble Cecil Turman, 89 of Willis, joined his wife of 61 years, Betty Wade Turman, in Heaven on Monday, January 21, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Cabble Turman.

Mr. Turman served as a Staff Sergeant in Company C 178th Engineer Combat Battalion in World War II. He was an avid farmer and loved his cattle.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters and son-in-law, Joyce Whitebread, Donna and Jerome Goins; brothers, Connie Turman, Harold Turman; sister, Faye Worrell; sister-in-law, Tabbie Swain; grandchildren, Alisa Horne, Billy Paul and Tracy Gallimore, the Rev. Jason and Kelley Goins, the Rev. Michael and Amanda Goins; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to his caregivers Patsy Cooke, Debbie DeJesus, Darren Worrell and all special neighbors and friends.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earnest Fulcher and the Rev. Jason Goins officiating. Interment to follow in the Cox Cemetery, Dugspur. Military Rites by Grover King Post 1115 Hillsville. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Funeral Home.
