Jacob A. Trompeter, age 60, of Pulaski, Va. passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at his home after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max A. Trompeter and Geraldine Trompeter, a sister, Deborah Rebecca (Becky) Trompeter, a niece, Tovah Rachel Trompeter, and his very best friend from Volvo, Dickie (Fly Wheel) Collins.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Lisa Trompeter, a daughter, J. Sarah Trompeter, two granddaughters, Jaycie Martin and Morgan Trompeter-Wines, one great granddaughter, Hollie Mai Wines, a sister, Rachel T. Shatz and husband Stu, and his beloved pets, Cheyenne, Casey, Abbey, Leah, Mutley, and Shana.

Jacob retired after 30 years of service from Volvo and was instrumental in establishing the UAW for Volvo in Dublin, Va.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 in Temple Emanuel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at 1118 Salem Avenue, S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016.
