She was a resident of Pembroke, Va., during most of her life where she lived among family and friends. She loved beauty in the world and was known for her sense of fashion and interior design. Osie was educated as an executive secretary and worked at various times for the World War II Ration Board, the Celanese Corporation, and the Hercules Corporation. During the last years of her life, Osie lived in the caring environment of Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg. She was appreciated by residents and staff for her courtesy, her kindness, and her smile. Osie’s beloved husband, John Tozzi, her “handsome Italian man,” preceded her passing on April 22, 1989. She is survived by her son, John Lee Tozzi, and his wife, Alta Tozzi, of Oak Hill, Va. Osie is also greatly loved by her granddaughter, Lauren Tozzi, and Lauren’s husband, Chris Maner. A gathering to honor Osie will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 East Main Street, Salem, and a Memorial Service will follow at noon. The closing of John and Osie’s crypt at Sherwood Memorial Park will follow the service.
