Jack Douglas Tolbert, 73, of Highland Road, Dublin, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born December 16, 1935 in Dublin, he was the son of the late Sidney Milton Tolbert and Thelma Chapman Tolbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Milton Tolbert and sister, Mary Thelma Tolbert.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was retired from Fralin & Waldron Management Co. with over 20 years of service.

Surviving are his his wife of 39 years, Barbara Jane Montgomery Tolbert-Dublin; three sons, Jamie Tolbert-Dublin, Stevie Tolbert-Dublin, Chuck Tolbert and girlfriend, Ashley Irby-Dublin; one granddaughter, Kayla Tolbert; brother, Freddie Tolbert and wife, Clara-Dublin; sister-in-law, Kitty Tolbert, Dublin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ella and Rex Page, Parrott; brother-in-law, Doug Montgomery and wife, Kathy-Pembroke; sisters-in-law, Margaret Montgomery, Charleston, S.C., and Betty Montgomery Dublin; many nieces and nephews and many special friends from F & W Management. Jack loved his pets, Boo, Major and Sunshine.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2 p.m. in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Gary Rorrer officiating. Interment will follow in Newbern Cemetery with full military honors conducted at the graveside by the Pulaski VFW Post 1184. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
