Tolbert, Frances East

Frances East Tolbert, 73, of Pulaski, VA, on November 30, 2016 left her sickly body on this earth to receive her unblemished body in heaven. She was born on March 31, 1943 in Pulaski, VA and was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Gary E. Tolbert.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Drayton C. and Bertha Anderson East; brothers and sisters, Eirby East (Margaret), Mary Bell Burton (Gene), David East (Wanda), Helen Hodge (Ben) and John East.

Frances was a homemaker and seamstress for many years before entering the public workforce. She was then employed by the Pulaski Radford City School Cafeterias for several years. After retirement, she worked for the Radford City School Cafeterias for several years.

Frances was a member of Thornspring United Methodist Church and dearly loved her church family. The family will be meeting at Thornspring United Methodist Church parsonage, 5670 Thornspring Church Road, Dublin, VA.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Thornspring United Methodist Church with Rev. Teresa Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Saturday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Thornspring United Methodist Church, 5670 Thornspring Church Road, Dublin, VA 24084.
