Tobin, Virgil Lester

Virgil Lester Tobin, 78 of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from his home. He was born in Marion County, West Virginia on February 28, 1934 and was the son of the late Ernest and Erma McElroy Tobin. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louella Hoult; and two brothers, James Tobin and Melvin Tobin. A United States Korean War Air Force Veteran, Virgil was an avid fisherman and enjoyed reading. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Peggy Hite Tobin; one sister, Edith Edwards of Baxter, West Virginia; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #6000, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, #311 of Pembroke and #145 of Peterstown.
