Tickle, Blanche Crabtree

Blanche Virginia Crabtree Tickle, 88, of Pembroke and Pearisburg, Va., departed this life on Monday evening, January 24, 2011. Born in Tazewell County, Va., on April 15, 1922, she was a daughter of the late William S. and Elizabeth Johnson Crabtree. She was a devoted Christian, a faithful member of Pearisburg Christ Fellowship in Pearisburg, Va., and a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tickle. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Daniel J. Tickle and his wife, Cathy, of Peterstown, W.Va.; her daughter, Patricia Ann Francis and her husband, Tom, of Pearisburg; her brothers, Jack Crabtree, of Bluefield, Va., and Herbert Crabtree, of Bel Air Md.; her grandchildren, David J. Taylor and his wife, Jennifer, Tori Bowman and her husband, Jon, Amber Tickle, and Daniel J. Tickle II; her great-grandchildren, Jewels Anderson, Jonathon Taylor, Haley Taylor Little David Taylor, Jakeb Bowman, Reid Bowman, Brock Bowman, and Hallie Thomas; and James David Price and Diane Buckland who were a very special part of her life. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011, in Pearisburg Christ Fellowship with Pastor Greg Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church two hours before the services. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The General Missions Fund, Christ Fellowship, 104 Elm Street, Pearisburg, Va.
