Thornton, Danny Ray

Danny Ray Thornton, 62, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Thornton; and brother, Jerry Allen Thornton. He is survived by his sister and her husband, Judy and Vic Mendell; sister-in-law, Ava Lou Thornton; niece, Katina Zelenak; nephews and their wives, Dwayne and Angela Thornton, Greg and Robin Lester, and Jeff and Angela Akers; aunt, Gloria O’Neil; two great-nephews, David Thornton and Cody Lester; one great-niece, Courtney Akers; one great-great-niece, MaKayla Willis-Thornton; and numerous friends and relatives. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Horne Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor T.
