Thornton, Bobbie T.

Bobbie Trinkle Thornton, age 74 of Pulaski passed away, Monday, August 18, 2008 at the New River Valley Medical Center. Born May 24, 1934 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Andrew Douglas “Doug” & Martha Agnes Phillips Thornton. One son; Fred E. Davis, Sr. also preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a security officer at Volvo for 8 years and a past employee of the former Coleman Furniture Co.

Sons- Robert & Shirley Thornton – Richmond, VA, Bobbie Andrew “Andy” Thornton – Pulaski,

11 Grandchildren- Jessica Dunford, Sara Dunford, Crystal Doggett, Nicole Frank, Brittany Cook, Fred E. Davis, Jr., Johnny L. Davis, Stephen Gunn, Eric Gunn, Robert Lee Thornton and Kelton C. Lowry

Sister- Leona Andrews – Pulaski

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. View United Methodist Church Cemetery, where the V.F.W. Post #1184 will conduct full military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
