Thorne, Mack Clayton

Mack Clayton Thorne, age 71, of Salem and formerly Giles County, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. Born June 7, 1943 in Narrows, he was the son of the late Bascom Thorne and Cleo Perdue Thorne. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Army having served three tours in Vietnam.

Surviving-

Wife- Carol Jean Quesenberry Thorne-Salem.

Sisters- Barbara Harvey-Narrows, Sandra Sue Fleeman-Greensboro, NC, Linda Henninger-Greensboro, NC.

Brother- Oakie Lee Thorne-Narrows.

His Children- Richard McCroskey-Pulaski, Michael McCroskey-Pembroke, Regina & Eric Boone-Pearisburg, Shannon & Michael Altizer-Dublin, Laura McCroskey-Moneta, Mark McCroskey-Radford.

Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 p.m., October 15, 2014 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Sean Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service hour at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
