Thorn, Clara Williams
Clara Belle Williams Thorn, 80 of Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6th, 2014. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on January 21st, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Ernest Eugene (Kale) Williams and Macie Jane Blankenship Williams.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Williams; four sisters, Martha Clark, Margie Sims, Edna Brown, and Lorraine Hamilton; a great-granddaughter, Courtney Spicer.
Clara was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows. A loving mother, she cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Susan Marlene Leonard of Lynchburg; three sons, Tony Thorn, Rickey Thorn, and Gene Thorn and wife Nedra, all of Narrows; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Brock Leonard, Joshua Chad Leonard, Melissa Perdue and husband Tom, Laura Goorskey and husband Joe, Regina Smith and husband Randall, Casey Ray Thorn and wife Stormy, Nicholas Shane Thorn; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Earnest (Pete) Williams of Strasburg, Virginia; a very special sister who cared for her to the end, Beverly Conley of Narrows; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 10th, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Dr. Jim Hagy officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
