Thompson, Robert Musick

Robert Musick Thompson of Mt Airy, N.C., was born on August 18, 1939, to Robert Mays and Velma Musick Thompson, passed on November 21, 2022. “Robin” grew up in Honaker, Va. Graduated from VPI in 1962 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Worked for Hercules in Radford, Va., Plaquemine, La., and De Soto, Kan.

He was predeceased by his wife, Brenda White Thompson and son Arthur Scott Thompson.

He is survived by his sister, Sibyl Bundy of Abingdon, Va.; son, Robert M. Thompson Jr. of Radford, Va.; granddaughter, Amber Quinn and husband, Brandon, of Wirtz, Va.; great-grandson, Orion Perdue of Wirtz, Va.; granddaughter, Katharine Thompson of Radford, Va.; son, C. Britt Thompson and wife, Candy, of Radford, Va.; granddaughter, Alexandra Thompson of Pulaski, Va.; grandsons, Hunter and Zachary Thompson of Radford, Va.; son, Andrew R. Thompson and wife, Sandy, of Cullman, Ala.; granddaughters, Dezzirae, Brylee, and Amora Thompson of Cullman, Ala.; nephew, Ben Bundy of Cedar Bluff, Va. and family; niece, Robin Lynn Ferrell of Abingdon, Va. and family; nephew, Phillip Bundy of Lebanon, Va. and family; uncle “Tae” and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Christ Chapel, 64 Bee Line Dr., Galax, Va.
