Thompson, Ralph Edward

Ralph Edward Thompson, 70, of Narrows, Va., passed away February 23, 2006 at his home. Born on April 1, 1935 at Glen Lyn, Va. , he was a son of the late Fred W. and Audessa White Thompson.

Ralph was an employee of Celanese Corporation for 41 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Duane and Melvin. Survivors include his wife of 49 years Carol Bradley Thompson; three children and their spouses, Maurice and Belinda Thompson, Karen and Terry Guynn, Kevin and Belinda Thompson all of Narrows; ten grandchildren Reece and Sammy Thompson of Narrows, Trisha Wilburn of Christiansburg,Va., Ashley Guynn and fiance Timmy Pennington, Corey and Matthew Guynn all of Narrows,Va., Lauren, Zach, Megan and Riley Thompson of Narrows, Va.; one step grandchild Jocy Guynn of Blacksburg, Va.; one brother and wife Gale and Kay Thompson of Grottoes, Va.; four sisters JoAnn, Neta, Freda and Margaret; a special sister-in-law Nancy Bradley of Gray, Tenn. Ralph also leaves to cherish his memory several very special neighbors and friends on and around Roberta Street in Narrows, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday evening in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall and Pastor Tony Reed officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. before the services. There will be a graveside service Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery at Narrows.
