Thompson, Merrianne Tickle

Merrianne Tickle Thompson, 67, of Dublin, went home to be with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, Jan. 24, 2014. She was born July 7, 1946, in Pulaski and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Beulah Tickle. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Frank and Richard Tickle.

Mrs. Thompson was a retired nurse and attended Fairlawn Church of God.

She leaves behind to cherish her sweet memories her loving husband of 47 years, Robert W. (Bob) Thompson Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Alison Thompson Worrell and husband, William Mack Worrell Jr. of Craig County; son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Pete) Wayne Thompson Jr. and wife, Shannon Marie Thompson of Dublin; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy Tickle and Wayne Inge of Saxe and Rose Tickle Quesenberry of Hiwassee; sisters-in-law, Marlene Tickle and Susan Tickle; grandson, Landon Worrell; granddaughters, Courtney Burton, Madison Thompson and Valerie Worrell, and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. from the Fairlawn Church of God with the Rev. Terry Bowden, the Rev. Marcus Harrison and the Rev. Dallas Vines officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.

Visitation will be Tuesday at the church where the family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Fairlawn Church of God, 7858 peppers Ferry Blvd., Radford, VA 24141.
