Lilbern Owen “Bud” Thompson, 90, of Pulaski passed away Friday, January 24, 2020. Born December 21, 1929 in Carroll County, and was the son of the late Sherman Lee Thompson and Lula May Guynn Thompson.

Bud grew up in Pulaski, graduated from Pulaski High School in 1948, and married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Gallimore Thompson, a marriage of 69 years. He was employed by Klopman Mills for 38 years. In his retirement years Bud had a passion for restoring vintage classic cars, ballroom room dancing, and r-ving across the country. He was a passionate bowler, avid hunter and enjoyed the open road on his Harley Davidson Super Glide. He was a devoted family man, a faithful member of the First Christian Church (DOC) for over 80 years. He served as Elder, Sunday school teacher and various other leadership roles. Bud’s greatest gift in life was the unconditional love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Alberta Thompson Bower, and his brother; Sherman Lee “Boone” Thompson, Jr. He is survived by his wife; Joyce Gallimore Thompson of Pulaski, daughters; Debbie T Suddarth and Bob of Pulaski, Sue T Simpson and Patrick of Winston Salem, NC.; Karen T Wilson and Randy of Orlando FL.; and Kaye T. Wilson and Mike of Christiansburg. Grandchildren, Alex Douthat, Jessie Reece, Turner Simpson, Anna Catherine Simpson, Chelsea Wilson, Seth Wilson, Matthew Bond, Joshua Bond, and Claire Simpson. Great Grandchildren, Gavin Reece, Liam Wilson, and Sophie Simpson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January, 28, 2020 at First Christian Church, Pulaski. Visitation at 10:30 am, followed by 11:00 am service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church General Fund.
