Thompson, Jimmy Leon

Jimmy Leon Thompson, 60, of Elliston, Va., died on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Radford, Va. on January 6, 1947 to the late Oakley Ervin and Ruby Litton Thompson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jackie Rose and a brother, James Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Julia S. Thompson of Elliston; daughter, Shirley Rose; two sons, James Rose and Doodle Rose; two sisters, Brenda Thompson and Geneva Thompson; grandchildren, Maryann Rose, Martin Rose, Brian Smith, Danyell Smith, Chase Smith, Doc Rose, Eden Rose and Brandon Sawers; greatgrandchildren, Jimmi Rose, John Shaw, Dakota Couick and Michelle Couick.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, October 24, 2007 at Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church, 910 Montgomery St. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
