Thompson, James Edward

James Edward Thompson, 74, of Dublin, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008. He was a retired Fighter Pilot for the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Elizabeth Thompson. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lucille Thompson, of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Denny Sowers, of Blue Ridge, Va.; son, James Thompson, Jr., of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Scott Shomaker, Katelyn and Sarah Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, in Dublin, with the V.F.W. Post #776 conducting Military Rites.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Principal Payment Fund at the Tower of Refuge Church, P.O. Box 2243, Dublin, Va. 24084.
