Emma Justine Thompson, age 89, of Glen Lyn, Virginia formerly of Kellysville, WV passed away June 29,2019. Justine was born May 7, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Lewis Green Law and Allie Mae Johnston Law.

In addition to her parents Justine was preceded in death by her husband Thomas T. Thompson, four brothers James Cabble, Franklin, Thomas Dewey, Gene, and Ray Lee Law, one sister Laura Virginia Whitaker, of Princeton, W.Va.

Four surviving children: Wanda Thompson Testerman of NC, Mitchell Anthony Thompson of Pearisburg, Tressia Diane Thompson Lambert of Rich Creek, Va. Thomas R. Thompson of Prince George, Va., two daughters-in-law: Beverly Robertson Thompson of Pearisburg, Debra Strouth Thompson of Prince George. Two sons-in-law: Roger Dale Testerman of NC, C. T. Lambert of Rich Creek. Seven grandchildren: Sharon Ann Gabbert Hassell and husband Joseph, Christine Lambert Fleeman and husband Mark, Calie Renee Lambert, Matthew Thompson, Ashley Thompson McKenzie and husband John, Kourtney Thompson, Kassidy Thompson, two great-grandchildren: Michael Alan Vinroe, of NC, Heather Renee Vinroe, of W.Virginia, two great-great grandchildren: Madison Grace Carrington, of W.Virginia, John McKenzie, of Christiansburg, Va.

Also 2 special sisters in law: Marilyn Thompson of Glen Lyn, Va and Segrid Law of Princeton, W.Va. Marilyn has been the best neighbor and friend to Justine, she helped with daily needs from getting grocery, paying bills, and many daily tasks. Segrid, stayed in touch with Justine calling, taking her to doctor appointment, visiting her and she never come empty handed always bringing her delicious food and scolding Justine if she ate the wrong thing that would worsen her COPD systems! Justine was very blessed to have two loyal friends to the end!

Special mention: Our family would like to thank Linda Canterbury for the care and help that she provided our mom over the many years. Justine enjoyed gardening, she loved flowers, she enjoyed cooking, canning and working outside. She was very content being a wife, mother and homemaker! As her illness progressed with COPD, she had to give up the things that brought her great joy!

The family will be receiving visitors at Justine’s home in Glen Lyn VA. Funeral services will be conducted at Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows Wednesday, July 3, 2019 starting with visitation at 1:00pm and the funeral service at 2:00pm, with Aubrey Whitlow officiating with burial following at the Sunrise Memorial Cemetery.
