Thompson, Clyde Brown

Clyde Brown Thompson, 83, of Pulaski, Va., passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010, in the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cook Thompson; mother, Cleo Thompson; sister, Margaret Thompson; brothers-in-law, Charlie Lawson and Friel Haga; and brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Clarence and Elizabeth Cook.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. He was a retired employee of Coleman Furniture and Pulaski Furniture.

Surviving are his son, Mark Thompson; daughter, Kathy Thompson, of Pulaski; grandsons and spouses, “Brandon” and Shellie Thompson, of Roanoke, and “Justin” and Roxanne Thompson, of Pulaski; special “Kitty,” Skeeter; special “Bird,” Joey; brother, Ertle Thompson; sisters, Ella Haga, of Pulaski, and Mary Lawson, of Pulaski; brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, George and Frances Cook, of Chester, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank their “Family” at Pulaski Health and Rehab for all their care, love, support and kindness.

The funeral service will be held 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wilfred Overton officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1046, Dublin, Va. 24084 or to your local animal shelter.
