Thompson, Cathy Lynn

Cathy Lynn Thompson, 67, of Riner, VA and formerly of Bluefield, VA, died Tuesday November 22, 2016 at her home after a short illness. Born June 27, 1949 in Logan, WV, she was a daughter of Herma Jean Cordle of Bluefield, VA and the late Hobert Cordle.

Mrs. Thompson, a member of Auburn United Methodist Church and a homemaker, was a loving person who never knew a stranger and was kind to everyone whom she met.

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Roger Thompson; two children, Doug Thompson and wife Rachel of Amherst, VA, and Kristen Thompson of Bluefield, VA; sister, Debbie Morrison and husband Paul of Princeton, WV; brother, Tim Cordle and wife Terri of Williamsburg, VA; and her beloved dog, Sophie.

The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday November 25, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday November 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ray Amos officiating.

Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Tim Cordle, Paul Cordle, Thomas Cordle, Jack Thompson, Daniel Morrison, and Paul Morrison will serve as pallbearers.
