Ann Elizabeth Crosier Surratt Thompson passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006 at her home on Sharon Drive in Dublin, Va. She departed this life peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 22, 1914 to Ola Sowder and John Crosier. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Stanley L. Surratt and Malcolm Thompson; her brothers, Bill, Jack and Robert Crosier and great-grandson, James Taylor Dove IV.

Ann attended First Baptist Church in Pulaski for many years. She was a member of the Good Neighbor Club and the Modern Woodmen. She was known for her lovely gardens. She was a wonderful, caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and family matriarch.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lucinda and Gary Jennelle of Dublin, Va. and Maxine and Albert Johns of Lakeland, Florida; her granddaughters, Katherine Sutherland Dove, Tara Kercher Neal and her husband Jamie Neal of Dublin; grandsons, Gene and Gary Von Essen of Rockford, Ill., Shane and Todd Jennelle and Jeff Johns; two brothers, Harold and Jim Crosier; and sisters, Jane Barnett and Helen Owens; special nieces, Joyce Bell and Cathy Lumpkin. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Gabe Dove, Maggie, Tyler and Ellie Neal, Brooke and Ashley Von Essen, Brandon Smith, P.J., Trace and Katlyn Jennelle.

Arrangements have been made by Stevens Funeral Home, 815 Randolph Ave., Pulaski, Va. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral service to he held at Stevens Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Interment will follow the service at Highland Memorial Gardens.
