Thomas, Glenn Frederick

Glenn Frederick Thomas, 69, of Blacksburg, died Monday, May 21 2012, at his home. He was born in Blacksburg on November 13, 1942, to the late Frederick Filmore and Sarah Gertrude Johnston Thomas. He retired with 30 plus years of service with Virginia Tech.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Wright Thomas, of Blacksburg; daughter, Shelly Thomas Plaugher, and husband, Bradley; son , Douglas G. Thomas, and wife, Heather; and special nephew, David Long, and wife and son, Jill and Tanner. His grandchildren are Dylan and Jeremy Thomas, Landon, Carrie, and Matthew Plaugher; sister, Phyllis Thomas Long; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph E. Thomas and wife, Amanda, of Richmond; niece, Sarah Thomas, and nephews, Darel Long, Scot, and Seth Thomas.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Bulson and the Rev. Scot Souther officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. 540-552-3211.
