Thomas, Everett Dow

Everett Dow Thomas, 88, of Narrows, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008. He was born in Princeton, West Virginia on December 9, 1919 and was the son of the late Troy Dow and India Fizer Thomas.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Thomas; and three sisters, Georgia Jones, Ruth Anderson and Helen Frye. A longtime resident of Narrows, Everett was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate with 42 years service.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ressie Brown Thomas of Narrows; a son, Roger D. Thomas and wife Cheryl of Christiansburg; a brother, Ray Thomas and wife Louise of Staunton; and a sister, Peggy O’Connor of San Francisco, California.

The family wishes to thank the Giles Lifesaving and Rescue Squad and special friends Larry and Sandy Harris, Judy Jones, and his caring neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
