Thomas, Betty Akers

Betty Akers Thomas, 75, of Copper Valley in Floyd went to be with the Lord on Wednesday. November 15, 2017. She was born November 27, 1941, the daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Akers. Betty was retired from Montgomery County where she worked for 33 years as the Information Referral Specialist.

Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, Larry; her sons, John Thomas and Mark (Rachel) Thomas; her daughters, Angela Riffe and Carmella (Ronnie) Carter; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sisters Loula Broce and Alice Nixon.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford with a graveside service immediately following at the White Rock Cemetery in Floyd with Pastors Hal Adams and Justin Quesenberry officiating. There will also be a memorial Mass at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Radford on November 27, 2017 at 6 p.m. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements.
