Thacker, John Carl

John Carl Thacker, age 48 of Pulaski, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born Jan. 2, 1958 in Wise Co., Va., he is the son of Betty Short Marshall and the late J. C. McKenney Thacker.

Mr. Thacker was a recent employee of Ethan Allen in Dublin.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Bogardus Thacker.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Short Marshall of Hillsville: two brothers; James Sargent of Floyd Co., and Rev. Jackie Lynn Thacker: three sisters; Ruth Thacker Smith of Hillsville, Donna Sue Thacker Cox of Hillsville, and Dovie Lee Thacker Hall of Pulaski.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jackie Lynn Thacker officiating. The family will receive friends briefly after the service at the cemetery. Arrangements by Thomas M. Seagle & Sons, Pulaski.
