Giuliana Ermelinda Taylor-Valsangiacomo, 82, of Radford, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the New River Valley Medical Center.

Born in Maroggia, Ticino, Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Adolfino Valsangiacomo and Teresa Negri. She received her Masters Degree in Romance Languages from the University of Zurich, Switzerland and was fluent in six languages. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, William Irving Taylor of Radford, Va.; three sons and daughters-in law, John-Stephen Adolfino Taylor and wife, Paula Miller, St. Louis, Mo., Frank William Taylor and wife, Ellen, of Radford, Va., and Mark Albert Taylor and wife, Nathalie, of Covington, Va.; stepsister, Liliana Confalonieri, Como, Italy; and five grandchildren, William, Julianna, Katherine, Sarah and Alexandre.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Radford with Father Patrick Golden officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The American Red Cross, 616 West Main Street, Radford, Va. 24141. Burial will follow at a later date in the Cemetery in Maroggia, Ticino, Switzerland. The family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home, Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com.
