Taylor, Stanley Eugene
Stanley Eugene Taylor, 80, of 2506 Julia Simpkins Road, Hiwassee, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. Born November 2, 1928 in Hiwassee, he was the son of the late Eugene Thomas Taylor and Mary Kemp Taylor.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He was a man of many talent: san engineer, an inventor, a farmer and had previously served on the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors. Most of all he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was highly a privileged individual, a gentleman and a gentle man who only asked that you strive to do your best. Stanley Taylor was a giant in his family’s eyes and hearts. He was our hero.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Taylor, Hiwassee; son, William “Billy” Eugene Taylor, Rockwell, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia “Gail” Taylor Moliver and husband, Dr. Donald Moliver, Rumson, N.J.; five grandchildren, Derrick Taylor and wife, Robin, Rockwell, N.C., Brady DeHart and wife, Karli, Salem, Candy Brown and husband, Jamie, Waretown, N.J., and McKenzie T. Moliver and Harrison Moliver, both of Rumson, N.J.; six greatgrandchildren, Miranda and Mia DeHart, John Hammond and Katherine Hammond, Lily Sage Taylor and Jacob Brown; sister, Hattie James of Dublin and her children; Tommy Marshall of Dublin and Sherrie Hurst of Winston Salem, N.C.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday 2 p.m. in Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Elder Jay Harris and Elder Don Singleton officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with full military honors conducted by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post # 1184. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home.
