Taylor, Allen Calhoun

Allen Calhoun Taylor, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016, at the age of 87. Born on June 8, 1928, in Bedford, VA, to the late W. P. and Eliza Dickerson Taylor. Allen was a farmer in Ellett, VA, from the age of 7 years and farmed up until he passed away.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Taylor; two sons; one brother; two sisters; and a grandson.

Allen is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Allen Junior and Joyce Taylor of Jefferson, NC; one sister, Edna Gearheart of Pilot, VA; three grandchildren, Jody Taylor, Allen Wayne Taylor, Kimberly Taylor; several great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held. The family requests no flowers and anyone wishing to do so may make a donation in Allen’s memory to the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1477 Carrollton Pike, Hillsville, VA 24343.
