Tate, Estelle Violet Rigney

Estelle Violet Rigney Tate, 97, of 3173 Honaker Road, Draper, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 in the Pulaski Community Hospital.

She was born in Pulaski County on December 19, 1909 and was the daughter of the late Woodson Rigney and Grace Lawson. Rigney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Tate, II. She was a member of the Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church and was a retired nurse.

Surviving are her son, Thomas L. (Tommy) Tate, III of Draper; sister, Emma Jo Schaffer of Ohio; grandchildren, Leslie Coalson of Draper and Derek Tate of Draper; and great grandchildren, Aurora Anderson, Nicole Anderson, Matthew Tate, and Carlie Burton.

Mrs. Tate will be cremated. A memorial graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 3 p.m. from the Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church, Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Joy Ranch Home for Children, P.O. Box 727, Hillsville, VA 24343.
