He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Edward Tankersley; uncle, Charles H. Tankersley; and cousins, Roger D. Tankersley and Robert Lambert. He is survived by his mother, Mary Evangeline Tankersley; two sisters and one brother-inlaw, Diane Vernon, Mary Elizabeth Boyd and spouse, Rodney; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Mitchell Wayne Tankersley and spouse, Willa, Leslie Tankersley, and David Tankersley; uncles, Rabon Brogan and Jay Brogan; aunts, Shirley Tankersley, Lucy Lambert, and Jean Staton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010, at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hall officiating.
