Tabor, Hazel Naomi Cox
Hazel Naomi Cox Tabor, 87, of Pulaski, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011, in the Highland Ridge Nursing Home. She was born in Wythe County on March 17, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Marion and Mary Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Navy J. Tabor; and her brothers, Robert and Fred Cox. Widowed at the age of 30, she never remarried and devoted her life to the care and wellbeing of her children, grandchildren and parents. She worked for the business Opportunities of the Blind and the Ranch House Restaurant until she retired to care for her mother for many years. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jerry Puckett, and Nedra and Steve Hare; son and daughter-inlaw, Joe and Regina Tabor; stepson and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Brenda Tabor; grandchildren and spouses, Chuck Underwood, Shannon Puckett, Katie and Kelly Roberson, Jason and Jennifer Tabor, Matthew and Kristina Tabor, Danny Tabor, and Steve and Sarah Tabor; stepgrandchildren and spouse, Leigh and Chuckie Blankenship, and Jason Hare; 13 great-grandchildren, Justin, Jackson, Alyssa, Keira, River, Levi and Jacob Tabor, Megan and Daniel Puckett, Elaine and Travis Roberson, and Graison and Rachel Blankenship; sister-in-law, Hazel Cox; and brother-in-law, Neal Tabor. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Judy Yonce officiating. Burial will follow in the Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be held on Friday evening, August 5, 2011, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Pall bearers will be Chuck Underwood, Jason Tabor, Shannon Puckett, Daniel Puckett, Kelly Roberson, and Matthew Tabor. The family would like to express special thanks to her caretakers over the last year, Barbara Petty, Pulaski Health Care, Highland Ridge and Mountain Valley Hospice. Memorials may be made to the Mt.
