Sypniewski, Robert A. (Rob)

Robert Adam Sypniewski, 56, of Pulaski County, Va., was received in heaven early Monday morning, January 10, 2011. Rob was born on October 30, 1954, in Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Adam Vincent and Mary Barbara Sypniewski. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Sypniewski; daughters, Ashley D. Sypniewski and Elizabeth Sypniewski-Crew; son, Ryan S. Sypniewski; sister, Barbara Hunter; brother, James Sypniewski; along with many nieces and nephews. Rob attended Virginia Tech where he was an active member of the ATO fraternity. He was a past member of Thorn Spring Golf Club, a past member of the Rotary Club, and a member of the 5 O’clock Club. Rob was an avid sports fan and participated in athletics in many ways throughout his life. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Radford. Mr. Sypniewski will be cremated. A Mass will be held in celebration of his life 11 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, from St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Ken Shuping officiating. Visiting will be held on Thursday evening, January 13, 2011, from Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. concluded with a prayer service at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Brain Injury Services of Southwest Virginia, 302 2nd Street, 3rd Floor, Roanoke, Va. 24011.
