Sweeney, Carmen Fernandez

Carmen Fernandez Sweeney, 88, of Blacksburg, formerly of Mandeville, LA, died December 02, 2019, at her home. She was born in Norco, LA on June 10, 1931, to the late Alvin J. and Lucille Lehmann Fernandez, she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shannon Ann Sweeney, and sister, Mrs. Betty Jo Guttuso.

She is survived by her Husband, Neil Sweeney, II; Daughters Dr. Erin S. Champagne (Tom), Kerry S. Lockamy (Bill); 2 Granddaughters Dr. Stephanie G. McGarvey (James), Dr Camille W. Graham; Great-grandchild Clare; Sister Lucile (Bobbie) Siragusa; as well as many beloved family and friends.

Carmen was a longtime member of the Catholic Church having attended local churches where she lived. She enjoyed art, music, cooking and time with family. She was a devoted wife and mother.

A memorial will be held at a later date in Louisiana.
