Swain, Evangeline Coker

Evangeline Coker Swain, 88, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Hazel Coker; and a sister, Nat Covington.

Evangeline is survived by her husband, Robert L. Swain Sr.; son, Robert L. ‘Bobby’ Swain Jr. and wife Pat; daughter, Debby Hahn and husband Glenn; granddaughters, Holly L. Jolly and husband Lee, Sherri R. Moeckl and husband Eddie; great-grandchildren, Parker, Hudson, Addison, and Carter Jolly, Luke, Abigail, Annaliese, and Evan Moeckl; brothers, Wiley Coker Jr., Jiggs Coker and wife Linda, Greg Coker and wife Linda; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the care provided to Evangeline at Kroontje Health Care Cove Unit.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul Song officiating. Interment will follow in Newbern Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evangeline C. Swain Endowed Scholarship Fund at Virginia Tech.
