Troy Edward Sutphin, 84, of Floyd was born May 18, 1939, and passed away January 22, 2024. He was always quite the prankster and loved to make people laugh.

He was employed by the textile industry in Floyd and in Roanoke for many years and was a very talented pattern maker. He also worked with Jeff Agnew’s Racing Team. Later Troy worked at Roanoke Truck Sales. Troy attended Fairview Church of the Brethren in Floyd.

He is survived by his wife of almost 17 years, Beverly Cockram Sutphin; Daughters, Brenda White, Barbara Light, Tammy (Darryl) Wade; son, Jeff (Lisa) Sutphin; 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; mother-in-law: Lorene Powers; sister-in-law: Brenda Farmer.

Funeral Services will be Thursday Jan 25, 2024, at 1 PM at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Pratt officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery, Tuggles Gap. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 AM until service time.
