Sutphin, Exava Lorene

Exava Lorene Sutphin, 80, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at her home.

She was a graduate of Auburn High School and a member of the Edgemont Christian Church for over 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Hiley and Annie Meridith Altizer. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 58 years, Cecil E. Sutphin; her brothers, Merle Altizer, Ernest Altizer and Arvil Altizer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Carla Sutphin of Circleville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Tony Johnson of Roanoke, Joshua Sutphin of Roanoke, and Carla Crabtree and Dan Murmane of Circleville, Ohio; great grandchildren, Brianna and Anthony (Buddy) Johnson and Halie Murmane; sister, H. Irene Scaggs of Christiansburg, special friends, Genieva Adams, Pasty Jones, Nancy Chandler, Francine Sutphin, Frank Kruszyna and Charlie Miles.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Christopher Yopp officiating.
