Sutphin, Ada Mildred

Ada Mildred Sutphin, 93, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008. She was born in Montgomery County on April 25, 1915, to the late John Thomas Epperly and Bessie Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Richard Lawson; second husband, Blane Sutphin; sons, Wayne and Danny Lawson; sisters, Treva and Ruth; and brothers, Gibbs, J.B., and Bernard.

She is survived by her children, Manuel Lawson and wife, Wanda, of Christiansburg, Saford Lawson, of Ky., and Polly Lawson, of N.C.; brother, Harry Epperly and wife, Judy, of Lewisburg, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; numerous greatgrandchildren; and nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with the Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday December 15, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
