SUTHERLAND, Edith Maxine

Edith Maxine Webb Sutherland, age 85 died Monday, August 21, 2006 in Tulsa, OK. Born September 4, 1920 in Allisonia, she was the daughter of the late Blanche & William Webb.

She raised five children along with her husband, Ralph who preceded her in death 42 years ago, worked for the FBI and the Federal Department of Health & Human Services in Washington, DC area. One son, David Sutherland also preceded her in death in June of 2005.

Upon retirement from the federal government, she embarked upon a second career of volunteering full time for the national headquarters of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Oklahoma City, helping to coordinate, and oversee their missionary efforts.

Surviving are: her children, Ralph, Jr. & wife Brenda, Lorton, VA, Art & wife Cory, San Diego, CA, Roger & wife Yvonne, Kokomo, IN, Martha Hope Sutherland, Tulsa, OK; sisters, Imogene Sisil, Indianapolis, IN, Ivory Lindsey, Pulaski, Violet Webb, Pulaski; brother, William, Jr. & wife Ann, Kettering, OH.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at the Appalachian Conference Center of the Pentecostal Holiness Churches Cemetery, (Rt.ll Dublin). The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.
