Surface, Wilma Rosalie

Wilma Rosalie Surface, of Pulaski, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. She was born in Russell County on October 5, 1921, to the late Claude Gray Parrott and Georgia McReynolds Parrott. She was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Pulaski for many years. She left her earthly home to be reunited with her loving husband of 71 years, Mr. Bryce “Boonie” Preston Surface. She was proceeded in death by two brothers, Winston and Edgebert; one sister, Hope; and one grandson, Christopher Bowling. Wilma is survived by one brother, Ralph Parrot and spouse, Sue, of Bristol, Va.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind one daughter, Mrs. Judith Bowling and spouse, Carroll, of Dublin, and Mr. Donald Surface and spouse, Evelyn, also of Dublin. She was loved and cherished by her grandchildren, Curry Bowling, of Dublin, Natalie Quesenberry and spouse, Randy, of Radford, Sherry Coleman and spouse, Bobby, of Dublin, and Cheryl Hall and spouse, Mike, of Dublin; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Sunset Garden Club, former member of the Pulaski Order of Eastern Star and the Good Sam Camping Club. Wilma was a retired employee of Jefferson Elementary School in Pulaski. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Stevens Funeral Home Pulaski with funeral services at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Smith of First Baptist Pulaski and Dennis Jones of Dublin Baptist officiating. Graveside services will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin immediately following the funeral service. The family welcomes friends and family to the home of Judy Bowling prior to services.
