Surface, Linda Smith

Linda Smith Surface, 64, of Blacksburg, left to be with her Lord and entered her eternal home on Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Paris E. Smith, and her grandson, Noah Andes. Linda retired from Litton Poly-Scientific/Moog after 30 years of service. She enjoyed collecting her beloved ” Cherished Teddies ” figurines, and traveling to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Frank W. (Benny) Surface Sr.; her children, Lisa Moore and husband, Steve, Virginia Beach, Frank Wayne Surface Jr., and wife, Jocy, Blacksburg, Karen Andes and husband, Phillip, Christiansburg; mother, Janie Elizabeth Price Smith, Blacksburg; nine grandchildren, Brandon Harless, Courtney and Eric Moore, Logan, Trevan, Trent, and Lynden Surface, Hope and Hannah Andes; great-grandson, Jake Harless; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Buster and Pat Smith, Jimmy and Sherry Smith, Wayne and Amy Smith, Terry Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Anne Duncan. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy McDearis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noah’s Outreach, c/o Blacksburg Baptist Church, 550 N. Main St., Blacksburg, VA, 24060. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
